Igudesman & Joo will be giving their “8 to 88” workshops at UCLA’s Schoenberg Hall at 5pm on October the 14th [link] and SOLA Music Academy at 9am on October the 15th [link] while in Los Angeles, California. The unique workshop is designed for musicians who wish to widen their horizons and their approach to creating, learning, rehearsing, and performing music. “8 to 88” explores and encourages musicians to be more open to often-ignored and less-practiced aspects of music making, which may include improvisation, choreography, theatricality, psychology of performance, stage manner and presentation, incorporating different musical styles, and, of course, humor. Musicians are invited to bring their own instruments and are encouraged to bring their compositions, sketches (musical or theatrical), and share “hidden talents”.
